Job summary

UC Irvine's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences seeks a Chairperson to lead the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice. The Chair reports to the Dean and provides leadership for teaching, research, clinical, and service missions while holding a faculty appointment.

The successful candidate will coordinate academic personnel reviews, teaching assignments, mentoring, recruitment and retention, and engage in fundraising and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications (required at time of application) - PharmD, Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership across all aspects of the department, including long-range planning, budgeting, academic programs, personnel, scholarship and growth of extramurally funded programs, and fundraising.
• Coordinate and facilitate shared faculty responsibilities, including academic personnel reviews, teaching assignments, committee appointments, mentoring, faculty recruitment and retention, and award nominations.
• Represent and advocate for the department at school and campus levels and contribute to research and teaching excellence.
