Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks a Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences to lead teaching, learning, and program development across the division. You will supervise faculty, manage budgets, and coordinate accreditation efforts while advancing student success and community engagement.

The role requires a terminal leadership track in higher education, collaboration with college leadership, and a focus on program growth aligned with community needs and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in discipline within Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
• 5+ teaching experience in higher education.
• Evidence of successful administrative leadership in higher education (e.g., department chair, program director).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in developing and implementing school goals and priorities and monitor their achievement.
• Select, supervise, and evaluate full-time faculty and staff; hire part-time faculty with department chair guidance.
• Direct annual budget preparation for academic units and monitor budgets.
• Facilitate and lead administrative functions (accreditation, student success initiatives, strategic planning, data-informed decisions).
• Represent programs to external stakeholders and program partners.
• Coordinate program accreditation and program review processes; ensure timely reporting.
