Responsible for championing innovative research and building partnerships, the CTO will need a Doctorate and a strong track record with national security stakeholders. The position offers a salary range of $200,000 to $257,000.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of interdisciplinary professional experience in Deep Tech.
• Direct experience at DARPA, NASA, DoD, or major national laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to design and win federal research programs.
• Exceptional communication skills and technical judgment.
• Strong collaborator with experience working with ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead BSC’s technical strategy and capability planning.
• Conduct technical and policy analyses for BSC investments.
• Serve as BSC’s authoritative technical spokesperson.
• Represent UC Berkeley at national forums and panels.
