Job summary

Iowa PBS seeks a visionary Director of Content to lead content planning and development for local and statewide programming. This senior role oversees all broadcast and streaming content, ensuring programs educate, inform, and inspire Iowans.

As part of the leadership team, you will guide approximately 35 staff and participate in strategic planning with the General Manager. You will drive editorial standards, budgets, and cross-department collaboration to deliver cohesive content across

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of full-time management-level work experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in managing programming and production for broadcast and streaming.
• Proven leadership and budget management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead local and statewide programming from concept to completion.
• Ensure editorial integrity across broadcast, streaming, and social media; manage budgets and production processes.
• Collaborate with internal departments and the Iowa PBS Foundation to create cohesive content and distribution plans.
• Supervise programming, production, master control, and operations staff; foster a positive work environment.
• Develop partnerships to enhance Iowa PBS programming and explore innovative production models.
