Job summary

The Ed Wallach Search Group seeks a Chief Engineer for Autonomous Maritime Systems to provide senior technical leadership for design, development, deployment, and sustainment of advanced autonomous undersea vehicles and unmanned platforms.

The ideal candidate will lead cross-disciplinary teams, drive rigorous design and verification, and ensure safety and environmental compliance for demanding maritime missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, naval architecture or related field.
• 8+ years of leadership delivering undersea/maritime systems.
• Experience moving autonomous systems from prototype to production.
• Experience managing technical risks in high-visibility programs.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end engineering activities from concept to sustainment.
• Ensure production-readiness including manufacturability and safety standards.
• Direct multi-disciplinary teams across software, mechanical, electrical, hydrodynamics, and control systems.
• Drive systems engineering rigor with requirements management and architecture trade studies.
• Collaborate with government customers and industry partners to meet mission needs.
• Support customer engagements and competitive proposals with technical solutions.
