Job summary

The Division of Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Classical Hematology.

The position focuses on non-malignant hematology, with opportunities for exceptional patient care, innovative research, and mentorship across medical education. Academic or Clinician tracks are available, with strong institutional support for teaching and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or equivalent; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Hematology.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care of patients with benign hematologic disorders.
  • Strong teaching skills and enthusiasm for academic medicine.
  • Evidence of research productivity or interest in developing academic focus (clinical, translational, or basic science).
  • Eligible for medical licensure and credentialing in Minnesota.
  • Candidates with specialized expertise in hemostasis/thrombosis, red cell disorders, hemoglobinopathies, gene therapy, TTP, complement disorders, rare diseases, or clinical trial development are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate and expert clinical care to patients with benign hematologic disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Develop and/or lead clinical trials, translational studies, or lab-based investigations.
  • Contribute actively to medical education and training programs across the Medical School's learning continuum.
  • Support multidisciplinary teams and advocate for growth in classical hematology services.
  • Engage with institutional and national partners to advance research, care models, and population outcomes in non-malignant hematology.
