Job summary

Ontario International Airport is seeking a visionary Airport Director of Planning and Environmental to lead strategic planning, environmental compliance, sustainability, and airport development within the Capital Development Division. This role provides direction for the CIP, planning initiatives, regulatory compliance, and ONT BOLD alignment.

Reporting to the VP of Capital Development, you will oversee regulatory processes and ensure alignment with FAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field such as Airport Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Environmental studies.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in aviation planning projects, preferably at a FAA Part 139 Certified Airport.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing consultants and cross‑functional project teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, and oversee all airport planning, development, environmental planning, environmental compliance, and sustainability programs.
• Lead CIP, ALP, and other long-range planning documents and studies.
• Oversee environmental planning and regulatory compliance including CEQA/NEPA processes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align with the OIAA Strategic Plan and ONT BOLD initiatives.
• Supervise staff, set goals, review work, and manage resources and budgets.
