Job summary

Lam Research Corporation in Hillsboro/OR is seeking a Vision System Data Science Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced computer vision and ML solutions for complex industrial applications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform image and sensor data into actionable insights that improve product quality, process control, and operational efficiency. Prior leadership is valued for end-to-end vision system development.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience.
Strong expertise in Computer Vision, ML/DL, statistical modeling, image processing and pattern recognition.
Experience deploying production AI/ML systems; cloud platforms and MLOps familiarity.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy computer vision algorithms for detection, classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
Build scalable ML and DL models using image, video, and multimodal sensor data.
Lead data science lifecycle: data collection, labeling, feature engineering, model training, validation, deployment, monitoring.
Develop robust image-processing pipelines with modern CV frameworks and cloud tech.
Define data quality standards and model performance metrics for production readiness.
Collaborate with process engineers, software/hardware teams, and product teams to deliver integrated vision solutions.
Conduct root-cause analysis to improve yield, process stability, and equipment performance.
Drive innovation by evaluating emerging AI/ML/vision technologies.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in AI/vision.
