Job summary

Bosma Enterprises is seeking a Rehabilitation Teacher to deliver individualized daily living skills instruction to clients adjusting to vision loss. The role includes in-person, virtual, and phone sessions, plus home visits as needed.

You will tailor plans with clients and support independence within home and community settings. The position requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Vision Rehabilitation or related field, plus relevant experience or an ACOTE-accredited track record.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Vision Rehabilitation, Education, or related field.
• An ACOTE-accredited Associate’s degree, COTA certification through NBCOT, and at least 3 years of experience in blindness/visual impairment.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision rehabilitation instruction focusing on personal and home management skills.
• Develop individualized plans with the client to meet goals.
• Instruct individuals and small groups in daily living skills in community and center settings.
• Provide instruction in personal communication and technology for client needs.
• Utilize residual vision, tactile and other senses to reinforce learning.
• Maintain accurate client files and timely reporting for billing.
• Refer clients to community resources as needed.
• Stay current by attending conferences and trainings and train other professionals.
