Job summary

Apple is seeking a Product Design Engineer to own the mechanical design of parts, assemblies and modules for Vision products, overseeing analysis, prototyping and reliability from concept through testing.

You will collaborate with Industrial Design, PM, Manufacturing, EE and other teams, and work with vendors to bring designs to life, ensuring manufacturability and performance. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2-7+ years of hands-on, consumer electronics product design experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills with materials and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred).
• Proficiency in GD&T and creating 2D drawings.
• Experience with external manufacturing vendors (DFM/DFA, FAI/CPK).
• Familiarity with FEA results interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility over the mechanical design of parts, assemblies and modules.
• Own the analysis, assembly and reliability of these parts.
• Span the product design cycle from concept development to prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with vendors to bring the design to life.
