Job summary

The Valley View Public School District 365-U seeks a full-time Visually Impaired Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will plan instruction for visually impaired students and collaborate with the building team to support student learning.

Responsibilities include developing IEPs, adapting materials, and maintaining strong communication with students, families, and staff, while benefiting from district fringe benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with Teacher of Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired Endorsement
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques for students with visual impairments
• Ability to write and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEP's)
• Ability to provide help in modifying instructional materials for students assigned
• Excellent communications skills with students, teachers, and parents, and a willingness to spend the time to assure that such communication takes place
• Ability to work cooperatively with support personnel on a daily basis
• Additional duties may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies and requirements.

Job description

VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Visually Impaired teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.

JOB SUMMARY: The Visually Impaired Teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of visually impaired students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques for the necessary curriculum adaptations.
