Job summary

Rockford Public School District #205 is seeking a Vision Impaired Building Paraprofessional for the 6.75-hour day in our special education program. The role supports the classroom teacher and specialists, assisting students with vision impairment or deaf/hard of hearing needs, under supervision.

Responsibilities include facilitating instructional activities, supervising students, helping with routines, and providing transportation and clerical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom management and instruction under supervision.
• Support special education students during activities and transitions.
• Assist with clerical tasks and school-related duties as needed.
• Help with supervising students in various areas of the building.
• Follow behavior plans and track student progress.
