Job summary

Escalon is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer in Santa Monica to design and implement ML systems that extract predictive signals and semantic meaning from CV and behavioral data. You will apply deep learning approaches to representation learning for real-time action prediction and semantic matching.

The role requires 2–3 years of ML experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, with on-site work in Santa Monica, CA. Salary ranges USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in AI, DS, CS, ML, or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of ML experience through internships, labs, or early career roles.
• Strong CNNs for image/video tasks and strong transformer architectures.
• Embedding systems and vector-space modeling for semantic/similarity tasks.
• Experience with Python and DL frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Familiarity with pose estimation, facial recognition, or classification models.

Responsibilities

• Design ML pipelines encoding visual inputs into shared embedding spaces for similarity/predictive tasks.
• Develop CNN/Transformer architectures for visual recognition and representation learning.
• Create encoding methods for cross-type comparisons (pose vectors, facial landmarks, labels).
• Apply cosine similarity, distance metrics, latent clustering for inference and prediction.
• Support model training, evaluation, deployment workflows, data preprocessing, augmentation, tuning.
