Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability in New York City seeks a dedicated Vision Education Teacher to deliver vision services in 1:1 or small groups under supervision. You will document progress, create adaptive materials, and support IEP goals with detailed FVLMA reporting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education and active teaching certification in NYS.
• Qualified for Teacher of Students with Disabilities and pursuing Blind/VI endorsement.
• Proficient with MS Office; PowerPoint for adapted books.

Responsibilities

• Deliver vision services 1:1 or groups under supervision and document progress.
• Collect data from interviews and observations to support IEPs and reports.
• Prepare goals for each student and monitor progress via FVLMA and IEP updates.
• Participate in IEP, team, parent-teacher, and CSE meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and providers to implement comprehensive plans.
