Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Royal Oak is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams and related services. You will conduct preliminary testing, document results in the electronic medical record, and assist patients through the exam process.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Previous computer experience and basic math skills preferred.
• Previous customer service or optometric tech experience preferred.
• Computer and/or electronic medical records knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual preliminary testing (auto refraction, IOP, visual acuity) and related duties.
• Document findings in the EMR including patient history and prescriptions.
• Escort patients through exams and coordinate with Eyewear Consultant, Dispenser, or Customer Service.
• Educate patients on contact lens handling, wearing schedules, and care.
