Job summary

Medix is hiring a Full-Time Virtual Urgent Care Physician to work remotely across multiple states. The role offers a pay rate of $150 per hour, with a Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM ET schedule and one weekend shift per month.

Active Tennessee and Florida licenses are required, with licensing support for additional states. Board-certified in EM, FM, or IM, and 3+ years in outpatient urgent care or emergency medicine are expected, plus 2+ years in telemedicine.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited program.
• Board Certification: BC in Emergency Medicine (EM), Family Medicine (FM), or Internal Medicine (IM).
• 3+ years in outpatient urgent care or emergency medicine.
• 2+ years delivering virtual care/telemedicine.
• Active medical licenses in Tennessee and Florida.
• Willingness to acquire additional state licensures with licensing assistance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a virtual urgent care setting.
• Utilize remote physical exam tools, home monitoring equipment, and remote diagnostics.
• Collaborate with RNs, MAs, PCPs, behavioral health clinicians, and supervisors.
• Manage patient follow-ups, including lab and imaging review, with closed-loop communication.
• Participate in team huddles, case conferencing, and All Hands meetings.
• Provide feedback on clinical workflows and telemedicine product features.

Position Overview

• Role: Virtual Urgent Care Physician (Full-Time)


• Pay Rate: $150 / hour


• Schedule:


• Monday - Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM ET


• 1 Weekend Shift per month: 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM ET (Saturday or Sunday)


• Location: Remote / Virtual

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a virtual urgent care setting.


• Utilize advanced remote physical exam tools, home monitoring equipment, and remote point-of-care diagnostics.


• Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary care team (RNs, MAs, PCPs, behavioral health clinicians, and supervisors).


• Manage patient follow-ups, including lab and imaging review, ensuring closed-loop communication.


• Participate in team huddles, case conferencing, and service line All Hands meetings.


• Provide continuous feedback on clinical workflows and telemedicine product features to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: MD/DO from an accredited program.

• Clinical Experience:


• 3+ years in outpatient urgent care or emergency medicine.


• 2+ years delivering virtual care/telemedicine.


• Licensure:


• Active medical licenses in Tennessee and Florida.


• Willingness to acquire additional state licensures (with full licensing assistance provided).

Preferred Skills

• Willingness to obtain licensure in AZ, CA, CT, GA, IA, IL, KS, MI, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, TX, and/or VA.


• Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is a strong plus!
