The Virtual Territory Sales Executive is responsible for selling or renewing the company’s products, systems and/or services via telephone or electronic means to customers in assigned territory, industry or accounts. The focus is on lead qualification and lead prospecting. Sales can be made through multichannel, inbound and/or outbound sales activities.

This position is part of the inside sales department and will be a remote position covering the Central and Western US states. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Call on accounts in your sales territory as well as prioritize sales activities in the accounts in an active sales cycle (existing and driven) to position Cepheid solutions to meet customer needs and maintains regular and educational communications with all other team members.
  • Develops and leads assigned accounts strategically to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth. Prospects new accounts and prepares information for all sales calls to secure new customers.
  • Researches and understands territory growth opportunities for developing an effective business plan and sales strategy and evaluates competitor’s products for internal communications and effective product positioning for a successful sale.
  • Maintains and develops strategic partnerships with key customers and leverages internal resources, when necessary, to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. Develops the client relationship by understanding both short-term and long-term needs/goals for optimal positioning of Cepheid's products and services
  • Builds in-depth knowledge of CRM and funnel management tools and applies these skills consistently to forecast business, lead customer opportunities, build opportunity pipeline, and make business decisions. Maintains records and communications with customer base through CRM tool.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of similar related sales experience
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments and collaborating with Product Managers, Outside Sales, etc.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment including working on video and phone and various virtual technologies.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with Excel and salesforce
  • Experience with working in a remote environment

The salary range for this role is $70,000 – $85,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
