Job summary

ACCEL Schools' Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida is seeking a qualified School Counselor to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students statewide through online and traditional outreach methods.

You will partner with staff and families to inform student-specific academic programming, create graduation and career plans, and provide proactive counseling services across the state's schools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus one year previous experience in counseling and/or advisement OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with K-12 online learning
• Experience with Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting
• Bilingual strongly preferred
• Ability to travel within Florida to support testing and school events
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Responsibilities

The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida is a K-12 tuition-free online public school serving students statewide. We are seeking a highly qualified School Counselor who is dedicated to fostering the social, emotional, and academic development of every student! At ACCEL Schools, we leverage a cutting-edge 21st-century support framework, delivering comprehensive counseling services through innovative online platforms and traditional outreach methods to ensure no student navigates their journey alone.

The School Counselor supports overall student success by partnering with staff members and families to inform student specific academic programming, create and maintain graduation and career plans, and provide proactive and preventative services.

Eligibility: Open to residents in Florida

• Bachelor's degree plus one (1) year previous experience in counseling and/or advisement OR equivalent combination of education and experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
• Customer service oriented
