ACCEL Schools LLC seeks a qualified School Counselor for our Virtual Preparatory Academy of Florida. The counselor will support social, emotional, and academic development across K–12, partnering with staff and families to tailor academic programming, graduation plans, and career pathways.

This role leverages online platforms and traditional outreach to ensure every student receives proactive guidance. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Florida School Counselor license, have experience with

• Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year previous experience in counseling and/or advisement OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with ASCA model and K-12 online learning preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; strong communication and confidentiality practices.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified School Counselor who is dedicated to fostering the social, emotional, and academic development of every student! At ACCEL Schools, we leverage a cutting-edge 21st-century support framework, delivering comprehensive counseling services through innovative online platforms and traditional outreach methods to ensure no student navigates their journey alone.

The School Counselor supports overall student success by partnering with staff members and families to inform student specific academic programming, create and maintain graduation and career plans, and provide proactive and preventative services.

Eligibility: Open to residents in Florida

• Deliver proactive guidance curriculum to individuals and groups
• Respond to individual and group needs with responsive counseling and programming
• Review transfer student transcripts and inform appropriate course placements
• Maintain and review transcripts for active students and inform credit award procedures
• Create and maintain student graduation plans
• Provide career readiness curriculum and facilitate creation of career plans
• Deliver Social-Emotional Learning curriculum
• Create and maintain Student 504 plans
• Analyze student data to provide input on appropriate academic programs and interventions
• Travels to support testing efforts and school events within the state as neededOther duties as assigned

About You

• Bilingual strongly preferred
• Valid State Counselor license
• Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year previous experience in counseling and/or advisement OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with the ASCA model
• Experience with K-12 online learning
• Experience with Local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
• Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations and make evidence-based decisions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
• Customer service oriented
• Ability to work independentl y and contribute to a team
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
