Job Description for Customer Service & Sales Support at Leybold USA Inc

Mission/Purpose of the Job

Main Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, handling pre- and post-sale activities within a specified dollar amount and complexity.
  • Coordinate with outside sales teams to ensure comprehensive customer coverage.
  • Follow up proactively on warm marketing leads and quotes for Service Business Line.
  • Provide information on all Service Products.
  • Manage open territories and re-engage lapsed service customers to drive sales.
  • Collaborate with applications and technical support teams to suggest product alternatives that meet customer needs and support sales goals.
  • Recognize opportunities for cross-selling Leybold products and set up leads for new equipment, field service, and contracts.
  • Proactively promote Leybold service products and identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Maintain and update customer databases and document activities in our CRM system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands for typing and dialing. Occasionally, lifting up to 10 pounds is necessary. The position involves frequent computer use and may require 10-20% travel.

Scope of the Job
  • Geographical Scope: Domestic (North America)
  • Interaction Skills: Phone, email, and chat communication with internal and external customers.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • B.S. in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred; experience with vacuum equipment or technical sales is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, customer-focused attitude, critical thinking, attention to detail, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
Additional Requirements
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
