Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Virtual Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. You will focus on automation, capacity management, and supporting cloud-native workloads at enterprise scale.

The ideal candidate has strong VMware expertise, PowerCLI scripting skills, and experience with Tanzu/Kubernetes on VMware. This is a remote US-only role with full-time direct employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Five+ years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management.
• Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking.
• Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and automation tooling.
• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
• Strong disaster recovery patterns and SRM understanding.
• Strong troubleshooting across compute, network, storage.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job Title: Virtual Platform Engineer

Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)

Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2

Salary Range: $125,000–$145,000 Annually

Job Summary: We are looking for a Virtual Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization, software-defined networking, and software-defined storage platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role covers vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu, with a focus on automation, capacity management, and the practical realities of operating a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads. The ideal candidate has operated VMware platforms at enterprise scale, navigates the evolving VMware product landscape pragmatically, and brings strong automation and operations discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations.
• Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
