Charles County Public Schools is seeking a teacher for virtual instruction. You will plan and provide learning experiences in a virtual classroom using Canvas and Edmentum, monitor progress, and communicate with students, parents, staff, and the community.

You will adapt instructional plans to meet diverse needs, maintain records, and ensure regular attendance. The role may involve serving on committees and collaborating with other content areas as required by policy and building leadership.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students in a virtual classroom.
• Work with multiple virtual platforms, including Canvas and Edmentum.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and outcomes through virtual learning platforms.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students in a virtual setting.
• Provide a structured atmosphere designed to promote learning in a virtual setting.
• Assist students in developing critical-thinking abilities by helping them understand content concepts.
• Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain regular, on-time attendance.
• Serve on special committees.
• Perform other duties as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement, and Building Principal.
• Willingness to teach classes in other content areas.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

About You

Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements

The role requires ordinary ambulatory skills to visit other locations and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard, are necessary. The employee frequently sits, reaches with hands and arms, talks, and hears.
