Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA is expanding its Innovative Inpatient Care Model with Virtual Acute Care nurses. The role is on-site (not remote) and supports bedside staff through a HIPAA-compliant video system for admissions, discharges and teaching.

Qualifications

• RN with Associate’s Degree required; BSN/MSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license required; BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Epic experience preferred; 5 years of recent acute care bedside nursing experience required; IMCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform admissions, discharges, patient teaching, medication reconciliation via video calls.
• Handle administrative tasks that take significant time but don’t require hands-on care; support bedside nurses.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety and high-quality care in the hospital setting.
