Job summary

Sentara Independence in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Innovative Inpatient Care Model in the brand-new Centralized Virtual Acute Care Department. This full-time Evening shift (36 hours/week) will use telehealth to support bedside nurses and improve workflow without hands-on care.

A HIPAA-compliant video device enables patient interaction from the unit. Required RN Associate’s degree with a compact license; BSN/MSN preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years of recent acute care bedside nursing experience required.
• IMCU experience preferred.
• RN license in-state or compact/multi-state.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS and ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties via video call with the Virtual Care hub: admissions and discharges.
• Provide patient teaching and medication reconciliation.
• Support bedside nurses and enhance patient care through telehealth.
• Document care and maintain HIPAA-compliant communication in the hospital room.
