About Us: Under the direction of the Lake County Regional Superintendent, Illinois Virtual Schools and Academy is a fully accredited Illinois online program for Grades K-12. Essential Functions:

1. Serve as a teacher of record and primary instructor for German Courses.
2. Efficiently set up courses within the Learning Management System.
3. Deliver LIVE lessons to both Teacher Shortage Solutions partner schools and IVSA Full-Time Academy students via web conferencing that are effective and based on student needs, incorporating research-based instructional practices.
4. Align and develop course materials to meet relevant standards.
5. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
6. Maintain a safe and positive school environment using conflict resolution, collaboration, and positive reinforcement.
7. Keep detailed records including grade books, progress reports, lesson plans, attendance records, and discipline records.
8. Build and sustain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, school administration, and other stakeholders through effective communication.
9. Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information.
10. Attend and contribute to school activities as directed by the Administration such as professional development, staff meetings, teacher training, field trips, professional learning communities, and other face-to-face events.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
2. Current Illinois teaching license in all relevant content areas and grade bands (PEL).
3. Current Illinois resident.
4. Strong content knowledge in German.
5. Proven ability to analyze student data to inform educational strategies.
6. Prior online teaching experience preferred.
7. Proficient with technology including Google Docs, MS Office Suite, and Zoom.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Understanding of and ability to manage confidential information.
10. Ability to work with a diverse and distributed student body and peer group.
11. Ability to pass state and federal background checks.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation for this role is determined by student enrollment in the range of $100-150 per student. This position is eligible to earn credit in the Illinois Teacher Retirement System.
