Job summary

Connections Academy seeks certified Substitute Teachers to support students from a home office across the country. As teacher of record during absences, you may be assigned 2–20 weeks, with average 8–12 weeks, on a part-time schedule with no benefits.

You will be online 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school's time zone, coordinating with families and staff, grading assignments, and maintaining student records using LiveLessons and standard tools. Certifications must remain active.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Certified elementary school teacher in Washington.
• Multiple state certifications are a plus.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested.
• Reliable, high-speed internet access.

Responsibilities

• Be online and available to students, parents, and school staff Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school time zone.
• Communicate regularly to develop and update individualized learning plans and schedules, provide feedback, and verify student learning.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences as instructed.
• Support instructional program through synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions (LiveLessons).
• Keep student records up to date, including attendance and logs.
• Work with counselors and special educators to meet individual student needs and provide updates.
