Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a PRN Childbirth Educator (CBE) to support expectant families across Indiana with virtual education and onsite onboarding.

The role involves designing and delivering childbirth education programs, coordinating resources, and partnering with OB and clinical teams to align care goals. Onboarding includes monthly meetings and a 6-month check-in, with travel to external sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health promotion/education required.
• Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Must reside in Indiana and be able to travel to external sites as needed.
• Flexibility to work a PRN (as needed) schedule.

Responsibilities

• Consult with expectant parents and families to explain pregnancy, labor, postpartum care, and medical care.
• Develop childbirth education programs with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee creation and distribution of patient education materials and resources.
• Design and deliver classes and training for patients, families, and staff.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to support patient education needs.
• Evaluate program effectiveness using feedback and knowledge measures.
