Proximity Learning, Inc. is seeking a Virtual Certified Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. You will teach students remotely using online tools to create an engaging, inclusive classroom supporting individualized education plans.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, delivering live synchronous lessons, grading assignments, and providing timely feedback. This fully remote role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to impact students nationwide.

Qualifications

• Active Special Education license (DOE issued)
• Special Education degree or equivalent coursework
• Experience providing special education/resource support, preferably in Math
• Must be available for an immediate start
• 1+ year teaching experience
• Proficiency with virtual teaching tools/platforms

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans: Create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and pacing guides.
• Integrate technology: Effectively utilize a variety of online tools to differentiate lessons, engage students, and deepen understanding of the material.
• Deliver live lessons: Teach synchronously during regular school hours (4-hour minimum).
• Grade assignments: Evaluate and grade student work to track progress, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
• Provide feedback: Offer constructive feedback to support student learning and growth.
• Represent Proximity Learning: Positively represent the Proximity Learning brand and mission statement in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching License (DOE issued)

Availability Requirements:

Candidates must be available for a minimum of 4 consecutive hours during each school day (Mon-Fri), between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM (CST).

Hardware Requirements:

Laptop or desktop (Windows: 10 or 11) (Mac: iOS 12+), 2 monitors, Reliable Internet (50 Mbps minimum download speed 10 Mbps upload speed)
