What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer incoming calls, assess callers' needs, and direct them to appropriate personnel
- Schedule new patients, referrals, and returning patients in accordance with office guidelines
- Obtain and enter insurance authorizations and correspondence into patient charts/EMR
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of visit
- Maintain the primary office scheduling template and assist with financial counseling arrangements as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Entry-level position requiring 0-3 years of experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Minimum of three years of office experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Minimum of five years of office experience for senior-level candidates
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding is required for senior-level candidates
