What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer all incoming calls, assess caller needs, and direct them to appropriate personnel while ensuring timely communication of messages
- Schedule new patients, patient referrals, and returning patients in the computer system, following physician guidelines
- Obtain and enter all insurance authorizations and correspondence relating to referrals in patient charts and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of patient visits
- Maintain primary office scheduling templates and contribute to the efficiency of the front office by following established policies and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Entry-level position requiring 0-3 years of experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Minimum three years of office experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is required for more senior levels of the position
