Job summary

The h.wood Group is seeking a VIP Host to enhance the guest experience at our Los Angeles-area venues. You will serve as a resource for VIP clients, using a concierge approach to anticipate and deliver exceptional service in a high-energy setting.

The role requires experience with high-end clients, a flexible schedule, and a solutions-oriented attitude to maintain a warm, hospitality-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a VIP host in a high-volume nightlife setting.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to stand during entire shifts, up to 8 hours.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, loud environment.
• Reliable, responsible, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort guests to tables in a gracious and professional manner.
• Create a professional, upscale environment for VIP guests.
• Establish relationships with VIP guests to ensure an exemplary experience.
• Control the flow of guests entering the venue.
• Oversee reservations and pre-assign seating as needed.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency.
• Handle guest queries with a proactive approach.
• Answer phone calls and direct to appropriate department.
• Complete opening, side work, and closing duties.
• Enforce ID and age restrictions for alcohol sales per state law.
• Follow safe food and alcohol handling procedures per state law.
• Communicate special orders to management.
• Return lost items to management.
• Act as a brand ambassador for the company.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The VIP Host is a key and important position for the success of the guest experience. They will serve as a resource of information for VIP clients regarding their experience within the venue. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in selling to high-end VIP clients with a flexible schedule. We ask for a willingness to receive and offer direction, be solutions oriented, and encourage a hospitality driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and escort guests to tables in a gracious and professional manner.
• Create a professional, upscale, and welcoming environment for all VIP guests.
• Establish relationships with VIP guests to ensure an exemplary experience.
• Control the flow of guests coming into the venue.
• Oversee reservations and pre-assign seating when necessary.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain a proactive approach to solving guest queries.
• Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department.
• Complete any assigned opening, side work, and closing duties.
• Reinforce guest identification requirements and age restrictions for alcohol sales in accordance with state law.
• Follow all safe food and alcohol handling procedures in accordance with state law.
• Communicate with management regarding special orders and requests.
• Ensure lost items are returned to management.
• Act as a brand ambassador for the company.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a VIP host in a high-volume, nightlife setting.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to stand during entire shifts, often up to 8 hours with frequent bending, squatting, and lifting plates, boxes, and objects up to 30lbs.
• Must be able to be in a fast-paced environment that is often loud and stressful.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
