Job Description
Deliver exceptional guest service following the Boyd Gaming Way. Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, be polite and courteous, and actively look for opportunities to assist guests and team members. Be sincere and genuine in all interactions. Be knowledgeable and responsive to guests’ and colleagues’ needs and questions.

Learn and familiarize yourself with all Boyd Gaming’s room outlets and be able to answer general questions about the property.

Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency. Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare food according to established recipes and menus, ensuring consistency. Handle food preparation tasks such as washing, slicing, peeling, and cutting to prepare for cooking or serving.

Work with delicate equipment like knives requiring fine motor skills. Test foods for doneness using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods. Assist in directing kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to work procedures, quality standards, and menu specifications.

Prepare daily prep lists and orders, maintain kitchen control, and communicate staffing needs based on business volume. Engage with guests in an open kitchen environment, explaining products, asking questions, and building positive relationships. Coordinate and communicate orders with dining room staff.

Qualifications

Must deliver excellent guest service, be friendly and courteous, and be responsive to guest and team member needs. Be familiar with all outlets and able to answer general questions. Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly. Capable of reading and preparing food orders according to standard recipes, handling food prep tasks, and working with delicate equipment. Test food for doneness and assist in managing kitchen staff and operations. Engage with guests actively in an open kitchen setting and coordinate with dining staff.
