Job summary

Altitude Aerospace in Seattle, WA is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to design environmental control, water and waste, and oxygen systems for VIP aircraft. The role targets mid and senior levels, with hands-on design and collaboration.

You will lead system-level design, mentor juniors, and work closely with electrical and other engineering teams. Proficiency in Inventor and PLM tools, strong communication, and U.S. work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Mid level: 3+ years mechanical systems design experience.
• Senior level: 7+ years including system level design and leading other engineers.
• Aircraft mechanical systems experience ideal; transferable experience counts.
• 3D CAD experience; Inventor is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-discipline collaboration skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to work in the United States.
• Able to work onsite in the Seattle, WA area.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings and schematics for ECS, water and waste, and oxygen systems.
• Work fairly complex system designs through to finished drawings.
• Lead system level design and coordinate with other teams.
• Lead and support more junior engineers.
• Research possible solutions and translate customer requirements into early design concepts.
• Work closely with electrical, monuments, and other engineering groups your systems touch.
• Communicate clearly about assumptions and impact on other areas; cross-team communication is central.
• Use Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and PLM 360 (Fusion Manage).
