Job summary

Altitude Aerospace seeks a Mechanical Systems Engineer to design and certify environmental control, water/waste, and oxygen systems for VIP aircraft programs. This on-site Seattle role involves hands-on development on an early program, with cross-team collaboration and growth toward senior responsibilities.

The position emphasizes end-to-end design, interaction with multiple engineering groups, and using Inventor and PLM tools on bespoke interior projects for global clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Mid level: 3+ years of mechanical systems design experience.
• Senior level: 7+ years, including system level design and leading other engineers.
• Aircraft mechanical systems experience is ideal; transferable experience counts (e.g., hydraulics or ECS on non-aircraft systems).
• 3D CAD experience; Inventor is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-discipline collaboration skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and able to work onsite in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings and schematics for ECS, water and waste, and oxygen systems.
• Lead system level design and coordinate with other teams.
• Lead and support more junior engineers.
• Research possible solutions and translate customer requirements into design-level solutions on an early-stage program.
• Work closely with electrical, monuments, and other engineering groups.
• Communicate assumptions and how work affects other areas; strong cross-team communication.
• Use Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and PLM 360 (Autodesk Fusion Manage).
