Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY for a Violin and Piano Instructor. The instructor will teach individual and group lessons in violin and piano, tailoring lesson plans to students’ ages, skill levels, and learning goals. Daily responsibilities include preparing curriculum materials, demonstrating technique and musical interpretation, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The role involves supporting students in recital preparation, exams, and competitions, maintaining clear communication with families, and participating in school events and performances. The instructor is expected to uphold a professional, supportive learning environment that fosters discipline, creativity, and long-term musical growth.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in violin and piano performance, with the ability to teach a range of levels from beginner to advanced.
• Experience in music pedagogy, including lesson planning, individualized instruction, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Solid foundation in music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and classical repertoire relevant to exam and recital preparation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, teens, adults, and their families in a respectful, inclusive manner.
