Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a Packaging Operator to assemble and seal vinyl product packages according to customer specifications. You will ensure proper carton closure and safe transport of finished goods on a 12-hour Continental shift.

The role emphasizes attention to quality, safety, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment, with opportunities for shift premiums and incentives.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 12 hour Continental shifts (12-hour rotating).
• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Manufacturing experience is an asset but not required.
• Good communication skills and basic math ability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Pack vinyl products from extrusion/injection lines according to specifications.
• Identify and report defective product or equipment.
• Prepare packaging for shipment (boxes, interlocks, labeling, sealing).
• Maintain accurate piece counts and carton stacking for crating.
• Ensure proper carton closure and safe transport to loading area.
• Maintain clean, safe workspace and follow safety policies.
• Monitor carton sizes and report discrepancies to Shift Supervisor.
• Participate in inventories as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
