South Coast Winery and Carter Estate Winery seeks an experienced Vineyard Manager to lead vineyard operations from vine to harvest, ensuring top grape quality while upholding sustainable farming and regulatory standards.

You will manage budgets, supervise crews up to 25, and coordinate with the Winemaker to optimize harvest timing, all while maintaining safety and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Viticulture, Horticulture, Agricultural Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of vineyard management or related leadership experience.
• Knowledge of viticulture practices, equipment, irrigation, pest management, and grape production.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily vineyard operations across two winery estates.
• Monitor vine health, soil, irrigation, pests, fertilization, canopy, and weed control.
• Plan seasonal activities: pruning, thinning, canopy management, harvest.
• Assess grape maturity with Winemaker to time harvest.
• Recruit, train, supervise vineyard crews up to 25 employees.
• Ensure machinery is maintained and safe.
• Develop and manage vineyard budgets and payroll records.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, pesticide regs, and farming standards.
• Support sustainability programs and safe work culture.
• Foster a positive team culture and address performance concerns.
