Position Summary

This is the entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Civil Engineer II by performing routine tasks such as designing capital improvement projects and providing staff assistance to the Village Engineer.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university. Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain within eighteen months of hire, an “Engineer in Training” Certificate of Registration from the State of Illinois. A valid Illinois driver’s license is required.
