Job summary

Responsibilities

• Move inventory, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks and/or customer vehicles, and help maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.
• Receive, place/return items into stock locations, and restock material.
• Pull and assemble orders based on shipping documents.
• Tag material for identification and complete required documentation.
• Move material using forklift, side loader, or crane to storage or other areas.
• Operate yard truck for loading/unloading trailers.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Sort and place material by size, type, or product code.
• Spot check inventory and tag material as directed.
• Report irregularities to supervisor and ensure safety/quality compliance.

A warehouse material handler safely receives, stores, moves, and ships materials to support daily warehouse operations. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, pulling customer orders, operating material-handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety and quality standards.

Job Function

• Responsible for moving inventory or equipment, filling customer orders, pulling material from racks, unloading incoming material, loading trucks and/or customer vehicles, & helping maintain the upkeep of the warehouse.
• Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations, and restocks material.
• Pulls and assembles orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation.
• Tags material for proper identification and completes all required documentation.
• Moves material from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Sorts and places material on rack, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Spot checks on inventory, completes daily and/or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed.
• Reports any irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Required Skills

• 1-2 years of relevant experience within related fields such as warehousing and material handling required.
• Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and limb coordination.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations.
• Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $28.07/Hr. - USD $29.57/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
