Job summary

Four Seasons Resort LanaAi in Lanai City, Hawaii is seeking a Food Runner to support dining service with prompt, accurate delivery and exceptional guest interactions. You will help ensure smooth service, correct presentations, and readiness of stations in a luxurious resort environment.

The role requires legal US work authorization, TB clearance, and Hawaii Food Handler’s Card. On-island housing and a strong benefits package are offered to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Legal work authorization in United States.
• Ability to work 7 days a week, 24 hours based on need.
• TB clearance card required by Hawaii Department of Health.
• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card required.
• Maui Liquor Card preferred but not required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail with an organized, clean, and fast-paced work style.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food promptly from kitchen to correct tables and seats, maintaining presentation and temperature.
• Verify order accuracy, including modifications and allergens, with correct garnishing and plating.
• Coordinate dishes with table numbers for smooth, accurate service.
• Demonstrate knowledge of food, beverage, coffee, tea, and after-dinner drinks, using correct setups.
• Provide warm, polite guest interactions while ensuring guest satisfaction during delivery.
• Assist with table maintenance, clearing plates, resetting tables, and supporting teammates during busy periods.
• Perform setup and breakdown duties before and after service, including side stations and water stations.
• Restock and maintain par levels of beverages and keep the service area organized.
• Polish silverware and glassware to maintain service standards and assist with table arrangement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Food Runner supports efficient dining service by promptly and accurately delivering prepared dishes from the kitchen to guests. This role serves as a vital connection between the kitchen and service staff, ensuring correct presentation, adherence to guest modifications, and smooth overall service flow. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver food promptly from the kitchen to the correct tables and seat positions while maintaining proper presentation and temperature

• Verify order accuracy, including completeness, modifications, allergens, garnish, and clean plating before delivery

• Coordinate dishes with table numbers to ensure smooth, accurate service

• Demonstrate food, beverage, coffee, tea, and after-dinner drink knowledge, using correct setups and vessels when presenting items to guests

• Provide warm, polite, and professional guest interactions while ensuring guest satisfaction during food delivery

• Assist with table maintenance, including clearing plates, resetting tables, and supporting teammates during busy service periods

• Perform setup and breakdown duties before and after service, including side stations, water stations, and ice buckets

• Restock and maintain par levels of water, juices, sodas, and non-alcoholic beverages

• Polish silverware and glassware to maintain service standards

• Help arrange dining room tables, chairs, and sections prior to service to optimize guest flow and reservation management

WHAT TO BRING

• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States

• The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required.

• Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card

• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card is required for this role

• Maui Liquor Card is preferred, but not required

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace. Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment
