Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Geospatial Linguist (Toponymist) to map linguistic nuances in geography and contribute to GNDB data management. You will scan maps, reference geospatial sources, and ensure correct usage of names per agency guidance.

Qualifications include HS with 5 years' experience, Vietnamese reading proficiency (DLPT5 2/2) or willingness to test, and TS/SCI with POLY readiness. Strong GIS skills are essential for accurate data processing.

Qualifications

• Requires HS and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• ILR Level Two certification for reading Vietnamese or willingness to test at 2+ with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience using ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro; creating shapefiles and geodatabases; using maps for extraction and comparisons.
• Active TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a POLY clearance.

Responsibilities

• Scan and geo-reference hardcopy maps; locate geospatial data sources and imagery for reference.
• Conflate georeferenced maps/imagery with the GNDB; apply US DoS/US BGN/NATO policies as guidance.
