Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Geospatial Linguist (Toponymist) to map linguistic nuances within geospatial data, aligning names with international policies and GNDB updates. You will work with GNPS tools to refine place names for government and analytic products.

Active TS/SCI with willingness to obtain a POLY clearance is REQUIRED. Minimum five years of experience, strong GIS skills, and familiarity with national and international naming policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires HS and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• ILR Skill Level Two certification for reading Vietnamese or willing to pass test (2+).
• Experience with ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro; creating shapefiles and geodatabases; mapping imagery for extraction.

Responsibilities

• Scan and geo-reference hardcopy maps; research and source geospatial data.
• Conflate georeferenced data with GNDB; apply policies from US BGN/DoS/NATO and others.
