Job summary

Metlang is seeking experienced Vietnamese court interpreters for legal proceedings including proffers, arraignments, depositions, hearings, and trials in the United States. This is a 1099 contractor role paying $97.34 per hour, with a focus on accurate interpretation and Q&A quality for federal-style proceedings.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of court interpreting experience, fluency in English and Vietnamese, and the ability to work independently with clients while managing high-pressure

Qualifications

• 2+ years of consecutive and/or simultaneous court interpreting experience.
• Experience preparing court-ready transcriptions/translations.
• Expert fluency in English and Vietnamese.
• Ability to interpret legal concepts and forensic terminology accurately.
• Ability to work independently and with clients in a professional manner.
• Capable of working under pressure while maintaining appropriate tone and pace.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orally between English and Vietnamese (consecutive or simultaneous).
• Transcribe spoken language into written form.
• Translate between Vietnamese and English in legal settings.
• Analyze information to ensure accurate interpretation and terminology.
