Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking a Senior Videographer to deliver professional video and photography coverage for military ceremonies, conferences, and senior-leader engagements on Oahu. You will operate a three-camera setup, manage live streaming, and ensure high-quality deliverables within tight timelines.

The role requires advanced technical proficiency, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in military and government environments. Onsite work in Honolulu is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive video and photography services for military and Public Affairs events, including 4K video and professional photography.
  • Operate and manage a three-camera video configuration with PTZ/remote cameras and real-time feed switching.
  • Record and deliver video productions in MP4 format, delivering final products within 30 minutes post-event.
  • Conduct still photography coverage for ~28 annual events, delivering files within 24 hours as required.
  • Support event preparation activities, rehearsals, and equipment checks.
  • Collaborate with Government/Public Affairs to prioritize shot lists and document senior-leader movements.

Overview

The Work

The Videographer, Senior is responsible for delivering professional video and photography coverage of military ceremonies, command events, conferences, senior-leader engagements, and other historically significant events. This position requires advanced technical proficiency, acute attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in military and Government environments. The Senior Videographer ensures the production of high-quality video and photographic content that meets established professional standards and adheres to specific project and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive video and photography services for military and Public Affairs events, including capturing and producing high-definition (4K) video and professional-grade photographs.
  • Operate and manage a three-camera video configuration, incorporating PTZ/remote cameras, framing, presets, and real-time feed switching to create a seamless final production.
  • Record and deliver video productions in standard MP4 format, ensuring finished products are archived and transferred to the customer in a timely manner, typically within 30 minutes of event completion.
  • Conduct still-photography coverage for approximately 28 annual events, each lasting an average of four hours, delivering finalized photographic files at event conclusion or within 24 hours as required.
  • Support event preparation activities such as virtual/in-person reviews, rehearsals, and equipment checks, ensuring readiness prior to events.
  • Collaborate with Government and Public Affairs subject-matter experts to prioritize shot lists, confirm ceremony protocols, and document senior-leader movements during events.
  • Set up, configure, test, operate, and break down professional production equipment, including cameras, lenses, switchers, PTZ controllers, monitors, recording devices, cabling, and power systems.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including firmware updates, system testing, troubleshooting, cleanliness checks, and regular readiness verifications.
  • Maintain strict file management practices for raw footage, photography deliverables, removable media, and customer-provided materials.
  • Provide support for livestream/multicast production activities during events that necessitate live streaming or simultaneous digital distribution.
  • Ensure a professional appearance and conduct that aligns with the decorum of senior military and Government environments.
  • Attend and provide coverage for scheduled events across Oahu, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or multi-day assignments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications – Here’s What You Need

  • Expertise in video switching systems, feed monitoring, recording workflows, media file management, and content delivery processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of 4K video acquisition and MP4 production techniques.
  • Advanced photography skills, including composition, exposure, use of lenses, lighting in varied conditions, and event documentation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production-equipment issues in high-pressure, time-constrained environments.
  • Strong organizational skills to execute tasks according to event operational plans, shot lists, and customer direction.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for travel throughout Oahu.
  • Ability to meet all access requirements for military installations.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television Production, Photography, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Broadcast Production, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for the education requirement.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in video production and photography.
  • Experience working with U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), military Public Affairs, corporate executive-event coverage, or defense contractor services.
  • Familiarity with military ceremonies, change-of-command events, conferences, and structured engagements involving senior leaders.
  • Skilled in operating PTZ camera systems, hardware video switchers, and livestream/multicast production workflows.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Media Encoder.
  • Knowledge of Army or military Public Affairs environments, including adherence to military protocols and communication practices.
