Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of camera operations, audio, and lighting equipment.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software (Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop).
  • Ability to tell a story through filming and editing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently and meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with a willingness to learn.
  • Preferred: prior related internship or commercial work.

Responsibilities

  • Filming quality b-roll footage of high-profile University events (some nights and weekends required).
  • Producing content for Mercer's website and social media platforms.
  • Filming interviews for ThisWeek@Mercer e-newsletter and Bear on the Street video series.
  • Assisting Video Producer with all aspects of video production for larger projects.
  • Editing audio and video content as necessary.
  • Compiling, organizing, and transferring all footage.
  • Reporting to Video Producer and other creative staff to execute concepts through to completion.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You are required to have ample filming and editing experience, and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software. You will be responsible for filming b-roll of high-profile University events such as Opening Days/Bear Beginnings weekend, Homecoming, select football games, Founders' Day, Commencement, and more. You will also be responsible for creating content for Mercer's website and social media platforms. This internship is a great opportunity for you to build a significant portfolio showcasing your videography and production skills while working with an award-winning marketing team.
