Job summary

Basis is seeking a hands-on Video Producer/Editor who will own video end to end—from pre-production through final edits. You’ll manage in-office studio work, podcasts, testimonials, events, and brand films, while leading freelance relationships and directing external editors.

You’ll build shoot day plans, oversee budgets, and drive a scalable video workflow. This role requires in-person work at our Flatiron office, five days a week when not traveling.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years producing and editing video, ideal in-house brand or creative team or production company serving brand clients.
• Command of Premiere or Resolve, plus some After Effects or equivalent for light motion work.
• A reel showing both shooting and editing.
• In-person 5 days a week in our Flatiron office when not traveling.
• 0-1 mindset: building the video function from scratch.
• Partner management: scoping, briefing, budgeting, directing agencies/freelancers.
• On-set craft: lighting, camera, and audio including multi-camera interviews with clean sound.
• Directing instinct: help talent sound authentic on camera.

Responsibilities

• Own video end to end, including in-office studio and podcast production.
• Produce customer testimonials, conference content, and brand films; create platform-native cuts.
• Scope shoots, build shot lists, and direct production timelines and post.
• Lead agency and freelancer relationships, budgets, and on-set direction.
• Develop and maintain a repeatable video playbook across formats and workflows.
