Job summary

Morning Brew Inc. is seeking a writer, visual storyteller, and host to produce humorous, informative short-form and long-form video for Morning Brew’s flagship account. You will own the video production from research to on-camera hosting and guide editors to realize your vision.

Based in the greater New York City area, you’ll work in our Manhattan office and collaborate with a Director of Social & Video to craft engaging business news content that fits Morning Brew’s witty brand.

Qualifications

• Combination of in-depth research and script writing skills.
• Ability to pitch engaging, visual stories that fit Morning Brew’s brand identity.
• Technical camera operating capabilities and on-camera hosting experience.

Responsibilities

• Pitch engaging video ideas that align with the company's brand pillars (business news & stories, finance, entrepreneurship & innovation).
• Conduct thorough research for stories, and procure interviews.
• Write engaging and informative editorial scripts optimized for social platforms and/or YouTube.

OVERVIEW

Morning Brew Inc. is looking for a great writer, visual storyteller, and host who can consistently create humorously informative short-form and long-form video for Morning Brew Inc.’s flagship account, Morning Brew.

The role would require the producer/host to take the lead on every aspect of video production. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of in-depth research and script writing skills, the ability to pitch engaging, visual stories that fit Morning Brew’s brand identity, technical camera operating capabilities, on-camera hosting experience, and a passion for content creation and visual storytelling.

Candidates must be located in the greater New York City area. This role will report to the Director of Social & Video

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Pitch engaging video ideas that align with the company's brand pillars (business news & stories, finance, entrepreneurship & innovation)
• Conduct thorough research for stories, and procure interviews
• Write engaging and informative editorial scripts optimized for social platforms and/or YouTube
• Serve as the on-camera talent
• Guide video editors and motion graphics designers to execute on your vision

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Based in the greater New York City area and able to work in our Manhattan office regularly
• Portfolio containing engaging and high performing short-form editorial content
• Strong on-camera presence with strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience filming social and YouTube content
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
• Ability to multitask, work independently or collaboratively as the project demands, and meet deadlines
• Interest in business-related news

BONUS POINTS

• Prior experience writing humorous content
• DP background/Ability to shoot on FX3s
• Basic knowledge of After Effects

COMPENSATION

$130,000 - $140,00 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below

Morning Brew Inc. was founded in 2015 by two entrepreneurial college students who noticed their peers were not consuming legacy media resources about business and finance news, but had a high desire to learn about those topics.
