Job summary

Morning Brew Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic, voice-y writer to produce for Morning Brew’s flagship daily newsletter and, on a weekend schedule, craft content for social media.

You will write at least one story per day, pitch ideas, and distill news into posts with humor. This full-time role in New York City offers a competitive salary, remote applications considered, and a rich perks package.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years writing in a newsroom or media environment, ideally covering business, markets, or world events.

OVERVIEW

Are you the go-to in your group chat for breaking down complicated news out of Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and Washington? Do you have a passion for staying current and the ability to maintain your sense of humor even when the news is rough? Then let’s talk.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, voice-y writer to write for Morning Brew’s flagship daily newsletter and occasionally craft content for our social media accounts on a weekend schedule.

Morning Brew’s newsletter, read by more than 4 million people seven days a week, offers a recap of the day’s news from the business world and beyond in just a five-minute read. Its secret sauce is not just expert curation of the news, but also the way that information is presented—in a friendly, funny, and inclusive voice. We deliver all the important updates our readers need to start their day without making them want to crawl back into bed.

Morning Brew has also become a major force on social channels such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. On these platforms, the Brew brings the same blend of style and information to engage readers when they’re not in their inbox.

The purpose of this role is to maintain the continuity and quality of the Brew’s newsletter and social accounts from the end of the week through the weekend.

Morning Brew is based in New York City and local candidates will be given preference, though remote applications will be considered.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

COMPENSATION

$75,000 - $80,000 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.*

Morning Brew Inc. was founded in 2015 by two entrepreneurial college students who noticed their peers were not consuming legacy media resources about business and finance news, but had a high desire to learn about those topics. What started as a small on-campus email has since evolved into a multi-channel media company that operates 20+ unique content franchises. All while maintaining our witty, honest and engaging tone that millions of loyal MBI audience members rely upon daily to better navigate the world.
