Job summary

Testronic Translation Department seeks an English-to-Swedish Video Game Language Expert to translate game content, updates, and marketing texts, with proofreading responsibilities.

This independent, project-based role offers remote work from anywhere, flexible communication with PMs, and opportunities to develop expertise in video game localization; freelancers should be prepared to cover CET partial hours.

Qualifications

• Native Swedish speaker with strong linguistic and cultural nuance.
• Fluent English for emailing with PMs and video interview.
• Ability to issue invoices.
• Minimum 6 months translation experience in games or similar creative fields.
• Freelance registration recommended.

Responsibilities

• Translate video game content, full titles and updates, sometimes with other translators.
• Translate marketing texts and promo materials related to games.
• Proofread other translators’ work to ensure high quality.

Currently, Testronic Translation Department is looking for an English-to-Swedish Video Game Language Expert who will:

• Translate video game content, both full-titles and game updates (sometimes in cooperation with other Translators),
• Translate marketing texts and other promo materials related to games,
• Proofread other Translators’ work to ensure the text is of the best quality.

• Native speaker of Swedish who is also a language enthusiast, passionate about linguistic and cultural nuances.
• Fluent English, allowing to communicate via email with PMs and to participate in a video interview with our Vendor Manager.
• Ability to issue invoices.
• Minimum of 6 months of translation experience in video games, board games or similar creative fields.
• Freelance registration recommended.
• Experience in subtitling and LQA would be beneficial.

• Independent and project-based job (Typical freelancing B2B contract).
• Truly friendly work environment, semi-formal approach to communication, approachable PMs.
• Decent translation rates with a fair fuzzy grid.
• Opportunity to work remotely from any place (availability to cover 9-5 CET time zone at least partially required).
• All necessary tools provided (CAT tool license for Phrase will be supplied).
