Job Opportunity: Social Media Video Editor (Dermatology Educational Content)

About The Role

We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic video editor specializing in social media content, specifically designed for educational dermatology videos. This role is critical in enhancing our digital presence, optimizing viewer engagement, and maintaining the highest quality standards for educational accuracy and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in video editing, particularly focused on YouTube content creation, shorts, reels, and other related short-form content.

Scope Of Work

Your primary responsibility as our Video Editor will revolve around editing long-form videos specifically tailored for YouTube. Each long-form video (usually 8–15 minutes) will also be used to generate approximately ten engaging shorts, further promoting visibility and reach across platforms. This dual approach ensures maximum utilization of content created, expanding our presence on various social media channels.

You Will Be Expected To

Edit approximately 10 YouTube videos per month, ensuring a consistent upload schedule.

Produce around 3-4 engaging shorts from each long-form video, carefully selecting compelling segments that highlight key messages, effectively capturing viewer interest within seconds.

Maintain a clear and professional editing style that prioritizes education and credibility while incorporating subtle, minimalistic graphics to enhance clarity and viewer understanding without overwhelming or distracting the viewer.

Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in content sequencing, transitions, sound quality adjustments, and text overlays to maximize viewer retention and comprehension.

Editing Style And Aesthetic

Our brand is recognized for its authoritative yet approachable educational content in dermatology and skincare. We prioritize delivering accurate medical information in a digestible, visually appealing format. Your editing style should be clean, minimalist, and sophisticated, emphasizing high-quality visuals and professional production standards.

Minimalist Graphics

You will add subtle, informative graphics, such as lower thirds, text overlays, or explanatory visuals. Graphics should enhance viewer understanding without appearing cluttered or overly promotional. They must be tastefully placed, cleanly styled, and easy to read.

Color Grading

You must possess advanced skills in color grading and correction using DaVinci Resolve to ensure all footage looks professional, vibrant yet natural, and consistent with brand guidelines. Accurate and appealing skin tones and overall video quality are particularly crucial for dermatology-related content.

Simplistic, Professional Edits

Avoid heavy, overly stylistic edits or transitions. Prioritize seamless cuts, clean transitions, smooth audio integration, and subtle animations or text effects where required.

Technical Skills Required

• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is mandatory. You should be highly experienced in editing workflows, rendering efficiently, managing file formats, and handling technical troubleshooting.
• Competence in Adobe Photoshop for creating thumbnails is required. Thumbnails should be clear, professional, eye-catching, and optimized for click-throughs.
• Familiarity with medical or dermatological terminology is strongly preferred to maintain accuracy and reduce the need for extensive revisions.

This position is contract-based and completely remote, allowing flexibility while adhering strictly to project timelines. Meeting deadlines is critical—timely delivery of content will ensure regular and predictable upload schedules. Regular communication and prompt responses are essential for effective collaboration.

Expected Output: Approximately 10 full-length YouTube videos per month plus 4 shorts per video (total \~40 shorts monthly).

Time Management: Clear deadlines for each video and short will be established and strictly enforced. Reliability and punctuality are key to continued collaboration.

Feedback Loop: You must be receptive to feedback and responsive in revisions to quickly produce the final, high-quality edits required.
